On 5 April, the moment everyone had been waiting for arrived as the historic walls of the Citadella opened once more to all. Visitors grabbed the chance to step inside the renewed landmark, discovering up close the remarkable transformation it had undergone in recent years.
Not only the revitalised fortress, the surrounding park and the exhibition The Bastion of Liberty were open for exploration, but a lively mix of family activities, mouth-watering food and drinks, and a plethora of unique artisanal finds offered something for everyone throughout the day.
